新中國成立後,黨政領導人堅持運用馬克思的精神和理論去發展國家,把數千年來受着封建迷信、階級壓逼的祖國同胞們解放出來,帶領中華民族在國際上屹立不倒,祖國內外有識之士正薪火相傳地提供各種資源,熱心地去支持祖國的建設和發展。

在世界歷史上,每一個國家發展期都有一段艱辛的歲月和在失誤中的成長,我們的祖國在過去亦不例外地有此現象,十多年來的改革開放得到舉世矚目的經濟成就,但亦帶來因人性貪慾泛濫而引致的異化危機。明智的黨政領導們今天應機而成立道德科學研究院,深化加強了精神文明的建設和提供理性實效的道德科學理論作為指引,使正受着物質欲望和感官欲望衝擊而引發身心行為失控者,能夠重新確立光明的人生目標和理念。

鑑於在我生活中的社會內,很多人都各自為生活和追求名利而生存,故很難有機會去公開個人的理念和哲學上的問題,但今天有機緣面對祖國的精英學者們,故藉此機會表達一些個人的概念。根據黑格爾的學說,在論及心靈現象的部分是不夠完整的,故此我應用了東方釋迦哲學中的緣起論和四聖諦給予補充。達到確實認識自己本體生命能如何形成,以及如何在宇宙中流轉運作,更掌握了如何可以改變生命之流的運作方向和昇華的方法,再其次發現在馬克思撰寫《資本論》的初稿時,他給恩格斯的信內曾提及:「在叙述方法方面,我偶然重溫黑格爾的《論理學》,使我得益不少,如果再有機會做這類工作,我會很樂意用兩三頁的篇幅,把黑格爾所發現的同時,又以神秘主義加以包裝的那個方法之合理成分,對一般人加以說明」,信中所提及的就是辯證法,亦是黑格爾《邏輯學》中用以揭示學術與科學展述的(唯一真實方法)。但後來馬克思始終沒有時間去寫文章說明這辯證法的合理成分。我有緣發現到東方理學中的因明學比邏輯學更為精闢深邃,故此運用了因明學作為揭示純粹思想形式的方法,感應到很好的效果,我無意去成為歷史性的權威哲學家,因為權位和名望不外是另一種形式的枷鎖。但作為人類形態生命的一分子,我只是不浪費天賦給人類有創造和發展事物的功能,以及有運用正確的知識去培育下一代的功能,故此在我過去和現在所做的工作,主要是基於我明白和認識到人類生命本體的特殊功能和價值,啓發了主動性地去善用短暫的時空生命,做一些能夠昇華和發展人格的有意義工作,不是受到外界的力量影響和引誘而行動,所以我接觸到黑格爾「絕對自由」的感性境界,相信今天我們大家能夠在此相叙的原因,是基於我運用這些論點和方法去工作而引致的回應。

我希望把我的經驗和方法提供給道德科學研究院參研和發展,為增進祖國的精神文明建設付出一點綿力,我特別感謝過去和現在所認識的黨政領導朋友們。從他們的言行中感覺到,過去受着國人尊崇之優秀共產黨員精神風格並未在祖國消失,加強了我對導師羅侯羅博士預言中國將會在廿一世紀大放異彩的信念。更感謝他們提供了很多善行工作機緣給我能一盡公民的義務和責任。我堅信我和曾經為祖國建設而奉獻的同胞們在生命終結前的一刻,權慾名利不能換到的「心安」將會示現伴着離開應世,在世時所創造的社會財富雖不是在其名下擁有,但將會不停地增長和給人分享,並正確地和理性地去發揮了在分段時空存在的人類生命價值和功能。

最後祝願祖國同胞們能上下團結一致,使我們中華民族的聲望和地位在世界發展歷史的里程碑上永垂不朽!

Chinese Moral Civilization (27th May 1996)

Since the founding of New China, the Party and government leaders have insisted on using the spirit and theories of Marx to develop the country, liberating our compatriots who had been subjected to feudal superstition and class oppression for thousands of years, and leading the Chinese nation to stand tall in the international arena. Both inside and outside of our country, intellectuals are providing resources and actively supporting the construction and development of our country.

Throughout the history of the world, every nation has experienced a difficult period of development and growth through their mistakes, and our motherland has been no exception to this phenomenon. Over the past decade of reform and opening up, we have seen economic successes that have captured the world's attention, but have also brought with them the danger of alienation caused by the overwhelming greed of human nature.

Today, the Institute of Moral Science has been established by wise party leaders to deepen and strengthen the building of spiritual civilization and as a guiding beacon, to provide rational and effective moral science theories. This will enable those who are suffering from material and sensual desires that have led to uncontrolled physical and mental behaviour to re-establish a brighter goal and philosophy of life.

As I live in a society where many people are striving to make a living and pursuing fame and fortune, it is difficult for me to have the opportunity to express my personal ideas and discuss philosophical matters. Today however, I have the opportunity to meet with the elite scholars of my country so I take this opportunity to express some of my personal concepts.

According to Hegel's doctrine, the parts relating to mental phenomenon are not complete, so I have supplemented it with the Eastern Shakyamuni philosophy of Karma and the Four Noble Truths. This provides a real understanding of how one's own being is formed and how it flows through the universe. It also reveals how to alter the direction of the mindstream and the method to facilitate the sublimation of the mindstream.

Secondly, in a letter to Friedrich Engels written by Marx whilst he was writing the first draft of Das Kapital, he mentioned that "I have benefited from a chance review of Hegel's The Phenomenology of Spirit in terms of narrative method, and if I had the opportunity to do so again, I would be happy to devote two or three pages to explaining to the general public the rational elements of the method that Hegel discovered and at the same time wrapped up in mysticism". The letter refers to the dialectical method that ultimately leads to the “Absolute”, a concept used in Hegel's Science of Logic to reveal scholarly and scientific exposition.

Ultimately, Marx never had the time to write an article on the rational elements of this dialectic. I accidentally discovered that the Eastern science of causality was more profound than logic, and therefore used it as a way to reveal more pure and effective forms of thought. I have no intention of becoming a philosopher of historical renown, for power and prestige are just another form of shackle. But as a part of the human form, I do not waste the intrinsic gift of the human being to create, develop and use the right knowledge to nurture the next generation.

Therefore, what I have done in the past and what I am doing now is mainly based on my understanding and awareness of the special function and value of the human being. This has inspired me to take the initiative to make the best use of my short and temporal life within this dimension. To do meaningful work that can refine and develop the personality, rather than being influenced and tempted by external forces. In doing so, I have experienced Hegel's core notion of “absolute freedom” and believe that the reason we are all here today is because of my response to the application of these arguments and methods to my work.

I wish to provide my experience and methodology to the Institute of Moral Science for its research and development, and to make a small contribution to the advancement of spiritual civilization in our country. I am particularly grateful to the party leaders I have met in the past and those I now know. In their words and deeds, I feel that the excellent Communist spirit that was so revered in the past has not disappeared from our country, and this strengthens my belief in the prediction of my mentor, Dr. Sri Rahula, that China will shine in the 21st century.

I am also grateful for the many opportunities they have provided me to do good work and to fulfil my civic duties and responsibilities. I firmly believe that at the end of my own life and those of my compatriots who have contributed to the building of our country, a "peace of mind" will exist that cannot be exchanged for power, desire, fame and fortune. This peace will be manifested and accompanied by the departure from this world, so that the social wealth created during this life - though not owned in their names - will continue to be grown and shared. It will be the correct and rational way of fulfilling the value and function of human life as it exists in segmented space and time.

Lastly, I wish our compatriots in the Motherland to be united so that the prestige and status of our Chinese nation will be immortalised in the milestones of the world's development history!
